I use the word FREEDOM intentionally because it is possible. To have freedom from an eating disorder. To be free of the illness, the grip it has, the obsession, the behaviors and the self-sabotage. I have experienced it firsthand and for the last eight years I have been free.
Horses saved my life. Years ago, I experienced equine therapy in my own recovery process, at an in-patient treatment center.
Horses have a way of seeing into my soul unlike any therapist, counselor, dietitian, family member or friend was able to. They helped me heal the relationship with my body and most importantly connected me to my intuition to guide me as a compass through the rest of my life.
Horses can help YOU do the same.
It's National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
Beyond the Arena was founded on the mission to help women recover from eating disorders through connecting with horses. To experience healing, awakening AND freedom. We've had the privilege of working women from all walks of life who come to us because they are "sick and tired of being sick and tired."
Last year we were published in The National Eating Disorder's Magazine "Making Connections". To read about how horses can help in the eating disorder recovery process, click here: Download Horses-lend-a-helping-hoof.
The truth about eating disorders is that there is no quick fix. Recovery is a trail that has twists and turns. It's the ultimate journey of self-discovery. And SO worth it.
The horses and I can help.
We invite you into our sacred, safe and healing environment and where there is no judgement.
The control and pressure that you experience every moment of every day is lessened. Your fear of losing control no longer consumes you.
The stories you keep telling yourself lose their power. Your identity is no longer shackled to having an eating disorder.
The emotional pain locked in your body from unfinished business in the past is addressed and our horses help you release it.
The hidden parts of yourself such as joy and peace are brought to the surface.
You experience a feeling of being connected to something outside yourself. You experience self-compassion.
You experience hope.
You begin to get your life back and decide what's next, beyond the eating disorder.
Recovery is possible and so is FREEDOM and a life worth living.
I've been there. I've gotten to the other side. And the horses and I have helped many other women make significant strides on the recovery trail.
You do not have to struggle with an eating disorder forever. You do not need to do this alone. There is help available.
This week we have a special offer of 50% off Equine Gestalt Coaching sessions for people in the eating disorder recovery process and their loved ones. This only happens once a year, during National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
If you book a session this week you may use it ANYTIME in the next 90 days. Click HERE to book a session.
We look forward to seeing you in the arena.
